No longer are the days when a museum visit was considered a chore for children. Today, most museums and chateaux offer fun ways for them to learn.
At the Château de Versailles, children can use the new audioguides with narrations and stories by Muce, a character who lived during the time of Louis XIV.

The Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte offers Easter weekend activities including a chocolate bunny hunt for 3- to 6-year olds and a treasure hunt for 7- to 12-year olds in the gardens.

At the Orsay Museum in Paris, 5- to 10-year olds with an adult, can discover the paintings, sculptures and art objects through guided visits, games and stories.
At the Louvre, children 4 and older, can paint, draw, photograph, dance, model, mime etc.
And the Guimet Museum of Asian Arts offers children a small guide book on the exhibits. They also can participate in workshops, Chinese painting lessons and guided visits to discover the gods of India or follow the paths of Aisian elephants. The whole world is in their hands!

Explore Paris is a multimedia show (available in 14 languages) and unique way to discover little-known museums, interesting off-the-beaten-path sites, and forgotten events in the history of Paris.
The Parc de Thoiry, in addition to its African reserve and zoo, offers many activities for young visitors. Children can explore an interactive labyrinth, a mysterious island filled with games and adventures, a mini-farm or play educational games set in the chateau's gardens.
Also for animal lovers, the Oceanographic Museum in Monaco organizes guided visits and has educational workshops and learning activities for children.
The Château de Clos Lucé- the Leonardo da Vinci park in Amboise in the Loire Valley, Little Leonard workshops introduce children to drawing and painting, Sundays from Easter to mid-September. They can also participate in four-day sessions.

The largest fortified château in Europe, the Château Sedan in the Ardennes,
recreates life in the Middle Ages for the enjoyment of young and old. The also organize Medieval classes for young students.

And finally, in Burgundy, children can visit the construction site of an authentic Medieval chateaux that is being built using the same methods as used during the 13th century. A true history lesson!
